The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive is the shorter form for Directive on the restriction of the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, and it was set up in 2003

The RoHS was officially set up in 2006, and was set to be fully enforced and became a binding law in every single one of her member state. The principle of the RoHs strictly restricts with few exceptions the use of various hazardous materials in the production of different electrical as well as electronic device and equipments.

For instance, an electronic device like a microwave or tv could be produced from mostly acceptable materials like screws, case, plastic coverings, which are homogenous materials. but the percentage of the banned materials are more then the product will have failed to pass the directive of the RoHS.

There are lots of restricted substances that are being sold in various markets across the world, they basically contain lead, they include; batteries, metal parts of vehicles and appliances, electrical power chords. Photographic materials and lightening products such as bulbs and lamps.
